Why we are doing this crazy adventure

For years we have dreamed of traveling full time and taking our time to see the world. Sort of like the "slow food" movement, this is the "slow travel" movement.

Until recently though, we didn't feel it was possible to live on a boat and still be able to run our business. But now, with technology so advanced, we can run our publishing business completely remotely. Yes, it's hard sometimes to get a good cell signal, but most of the time it works perfectly.

Also, we are not getting any younger and we figured it would be better to try this adventure in our 40's, when we are both in fairly good health, than at the traditional retirement age of mid 60's. Boats have too many tragic stories to ignore the very real possibility that if we waited to do this, we may be one of the tragic stories.

Anyway, we are excited to start this adventure. Our first 10 months have been exhilarating, challenging, terrifying, and joyful. We are learning so much, so fast, and yet we still have so much to learn. We have the time though, and we are trying to be smart about our pace.
